How To Play High Low Card Game


Components

  • 100 cards (numbered one to 100)
  • 1 Hi-Lo fleck
  • Instructions

Object of the Game

Score points past winning discard piles, while also trying to exist the get-go player out of cards.


Setup

  1. Grab a slice of newspaper and a writing utensil to go along track of scores. Nominate a scorekeeper.

  2. Shuffle the deck thoroughly, and deal each histrion a hand of 7 cards, face-down.

  3. Identify the remaining cards face-down in the center of the play area as a draw pile.

  4. Flip the How-do-you-do-Lo chip and place information technology next to the describe pile. If the chip landed on "How-do-you-do" the oldest player starts, if it landed on "Lo" the youngest actor starts.

Game Play

On your turn, look at the Hi-Lo bit. If "Hi" is face up-upwardly, you must play a bill of fare to the discard pile that's college than the electric current tiptop card of the pile. If "Lo" is confront-up, and then you must play a lower bill of fare.

Note: If y'all are starting a round, form a new discard pile past playing whatever bill of fare from your paw next to the describe pile.

Special Carte Abilities

Cards ending in "1": Playing one of these cards causes the next actor to draw ane carte du jour and immediately skip their plough.


Clarifications:

  • One time a role player is skipped, if the adjacent (3rd) histrion is unable to make a legal play, then whoever played the card ending in 1 collects the discard pile.

  • If you play a card ending in 1 in a ii-role player game, in essence, y'all take a second turn. However, if you lot are unable to make a legal play during this second plow, then y'all must make a reset play, and your opponent collects the discard pile.


Cards catastrophe in "2": When you play a card ending in 2, yous must immediately play a 2d card, unless it was your final carte du jour.


Clarifications:

  • If you play a card catastrophe in 2 just are unable to play a second card, then you must make a reset play, and the discard pile is awarded to the role player who almost recently played a card prior to you.

  • If you play a menu ending in ii during a reset play but are unable to play a second card, then you must reset once again, and again award the discard pile to the previous player.

Cards ending in "0": These cards are each worth 10 points when scoring (encounter: "Ending the Circular").

Ending the Circular

The round ends when 1 histrion has discarded all the cards in their hand. That thespian wins all of the cards in the electric current discard pile and receives a bonus of 10 points for going out.

All players count the cards they nerveless and score 10 points for each card catastrophe in "0", and 1 betoken each for all other cards.

Each player announces their full for the scorekeeper to tally.


Start a New Circular

To start a new circular collect all the cards, shuffle them thoroughly, and deal each player a new mitt of 7 cards. The Howdy-Lo chip remains on the same side from the previous circular, and the player in last place starts the next round.

If in that location is a necktie for last place, either the oldest or youngest tied thespian starts, based on which side of the Hi-Lo chip is face-up.


Stop of the Game

The game ends once whatever player has accumulated at to the lowest degree 75 points at the terminate of a round. Whoever has the highest score is the winner.
